shanaqui and iltaru started this community to document our adventures in reading our own height in books. It isn't just for us and our challenge, though -- we want to see all kinds of crazy random challenges. Some suggestions we already thought up:

-Knitting your own weight in yarn.
-Reading enough books to go round the perimeter of your bedroom.
-Watching your height in movies.
-Writing enough music to wallpaper a room.
-Writing a song for each member of your extended family.
-Learning every instrument part to a song, and recording it.
-Drinking your own weight in as many different kinds of soup as you can find.
-Making a large number of birds out of beer cans. After drinking the beer.
-Eating enough M&Ms to outline your own silhouette.
-Stealing a traffic cone from every capital city of Europe, and photographing yourself with it in front of a monument from that city.
-Anything else you feel will be a challenge!

Ideally, challenges should be something you can make progress with over a period of time. You can set the limits of that time -- it can be a week, a month, a year.

Get Started

Choose a challenge.
Involve a friend, if you wish. Solo efforts are also okay.
Make a post outlining your set of rules for it, including an ending date if you want one.
Update us over the course of your chosen period of time!

Tags

shanaqui will tag all posts. There'll be "genres" of challenges, e.g. "books", "knitting", "dvds", "food". Your post will also be tagged by your username (and your co-conspirator's username, if you have one). If you end up doing multiple challenges, for the sake of sorting, a number will be added to the end of the tag, so each name tag only refers to one challenge.

Play Nice

Don't do anything illegal. Don't blame us if you do and you get into trouble. Don't do anything dangerous to yourself. Don't blame us if you do and you get hurt. Don't do anything dangerous to other people. Don't blame us if you do and problems arise.
Don't be nasty to people. shanaqui and iltaru wield the powers of freeze, delete and ban.
Don't delete posts or comments. (Obviously there are exceptions, e.g. to repost sans a typo in the case of a comment.)
Don't post anything not worksafe outside of an LJ cut. Preferably, mark adult content too.
